This private library houses the books and art of a screenwriter/mystery novelist and provides a quiet place to read and work.
It is perched on a scenic Hill Country bluff where hills of craggy limestone escarpments studded with live oaks and cedars stretch out for miles. The exterior uses rough hewn white limestone and a vocabulary of spare, almost brutal simplicity, to convey a tough classicism that seems at home in its rugged setting.
The interior is appointed with finely-detailed cherry cabinetry and carefully proportioned windows sheltered below a series of cast-in-place concrete arches that are at once graceful and commanding.
